Interactive Emergency Response Plan (ERP) implementation 2 daysTBD$580.00 (includes applicable taxes)

This 2 day program is designed to enhance an operator's confidence and skills when dealing with operational upset requiring the deployment of an ERP (Emergency Response Plan).

 

The program includes:

  • Review of specific ERP prior to going into the field
  • Attendee's with then be responsible to organize all necessary resources (people, equipment, tools etc.) and all participants will be given a roll to play.
  • Play out all steps required to rectify the situation including some actual repairs to Mocked up pipes/valves/pumps etc.
  • Complete the necessary safety precautions i.e. confined space protocal; excavation safety; lockout procedures etc.
  • Deal with utility customers, and any other involved people
  • Then safely bring the component and system back on line.

The scenarios will be structured to challenge the operators skills when dealing with operational upset, the difficulty can be varied according to how the operator(s) are handling the drill; an operator struggling with the basics will not encounter as many obstacles as one handling the situation with a higher level of confidence, for these operators the facilitator can introduce additional obstacles to enhance the challenge and experience.

 

At the end of each exercise, the facilitator will provide a debriefing to all participants focused on recognizing procedures performed correctly and reviewing re-enforcing procedures and processes in need of refinement.

From the life size (operational) and transparent water well to the curb stop representing the end of the system, this component by component tour allows participants to get their hands on most of the equipment in use on a typical water system. Our purpose built interactive training facility includes a fully operational water system and represents typical components from source to tap.

Some review will be provided on basic safety, well drilling methods, geology, ground water quality, and Aquifer potential. But the primary focus is on the technical and practical aspects of selecting, applying and troubleshooting well pumps. Electrical and motor controls will also be covered with the understanding that Safety Authority certification as an FSR well pump installer must be obtained separately. It is understood that the challenge candidate will have completed the trade related work experience for water well drilling, geo-exchange drilling and geotechnical and environmental before applying to the ita.
