ROV Submersible Inspection

MTS provides a unique service that utilizes the latest ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle – commonly known as a submersible) technology for inspections of potable water reservoirs, dams and intakes.
This service has proven to be both cost effective and valuable to our clients to see what goes on beyond the hatch. The main focus of our inspections have been to determine the internal condition of reservoirs and to provide an internal view to base a decision on whether or not a full reservoir cleaning is required immediately or can be postponed for a later date.

ROV inspections …

NO additional man power is required
Our trained ROV pilot and ROV …a water system operator … is all that is required. All inspections are done within the proximity of the hatch or site location.

Access to confined space with NO confined space entry required
Only the ROV enters the reservoir or area required for the inspection and is remotely operated from the surface.

Internal inspection with limited possibility of water contamination
A complete sterilization of the ROV is carried out prior to every inspection of potable water reservoirs. Our equipment is only used for potable water operations to ensure there is no contamination.

Inspections DO NOT require the water system to be taken off line or service interruptions
All inspections are virtually unnoticed. No valves are turned off or pumps throttled down during the inspection. ROV inspections are carried out seamlessly and efficiently.

Detailed inspection of all accessible internal components
Inspections include a detailed full internal view of the reservoir walls / floor / inlets and outlets / drains / columns / valves and ceiling. Our ROV is equipped with both temperature and depth sensors, providing information related to circulation and turnover.

Inspections deployed on a routine and emergency basis
Whether it is a routine inspection or in the event of an emergency entry, our ROV pilot and equipment are readily available and require minimal time for mobilization.

Inspections of the entire operation are recorded in HD digital video
All inspections are recorded in HD digital video format, along with the ability to pin point segments of the recording for review and still image acquisition.

Cost effective inspections while the system stays online
Full inspections with our ROV technology result in a cost effective alternative without the requirements of a full crew mobilization or disruption of service.

Not limited to just reservoirs
As long as it’s a drinking water source … we’ll go in it. Inspections of intakes and dams can be accessed with our ROV, with the ability to reach depths of 65 meters.

Save time on maintenance and your budget with the ability to know what’s beyond the hatch at a moment’s notice.
