This 4 day program is designed to enhance an operator's confidence and skills when dealing with operational upset requiring the deployment of an ERP (Emergency Response Plan).
The program includes:
- Review of specific ERP prior to going into the field
- Attendee's with then be responsible to organize all necessary resources (people, equipment, tools etc.) and all participants will be given a roll to play.
- Play out all steps required to rectify the situation including actual repairs to Mocked up pipes/valves/pumps etc.
- Complete the necessary safety precautions i.e. confined space protocal; excavation safety; lockout procedures etc.
- Deal with utility customers, and any other involved people
- Then safely bring the component and system back on line.
The scenarios will be structured to challenge the operators skills when dealing with operational upset, the difficulty can be varied according to how the operator(s) are handling the drill; an operator struggling with the basics will not encounter as many obstacles as one handling the situation with a higher level of confidence, for these operators the facilitator can introduce additional obstacles to enhance the challenge and experience.
At the end of each exercise, the facilitator will provide a debriefing to all participants focused on recognizing procedures performed correctly and reviewing re-enforcing procedures and processes in need of refinement. |
