Prerequisite: Confined Space Awareness
This (1-day) course provides proper procedures, roles, responsibilities & practical exercises for Supervisors, Standby Personnel, and Entrants for safe entry into confined spaces using standard CS entry techniques & equipment, with an additional component utilizing specialized techniques for simultaneous multiple worker entries.
Topics Include:
1. Regulations & Responsibilities - a review of OHS regulations & responsibilities,
2. Hazards & Precautions - understanding hazards and learning precautions to eliminate,
3. Inspection and Review of Equipment and PPE - reviewing function and operation of confined space entry equipment
4. Knots, Rope and Specialized Equipment - Learn and demonstrate constructing a rope system for multiple worker entry
5. Pre-Plan (Workers and Task) - to Develop and organize a task plan
6. Preparing Personnel for Entry / Inspection - understanding procedures and how to inspect equipment prior to use
7. Preparing the Space for Entry - Learn how to set up equipment and prepare the space / area for entry
8. Entry into a Confined Space - learning and demonstrating safe enter of a confined space
9. Exiting a Confined Space - learn and demonstrate safe exit of a confined space
10. Man-down Non-Entry Rescue Procedure - learn non-entry extraction techniques
11. Post Entry Procedures
The course also provides a non-entry rescue exercise.
Attendees will need to bring their own proper steel toes, work gloves, coveralls
