Changing Account Name on Handheld

The following is a demonstration of how to recover assessment data after changing the account name on the handheld.

NOTE: The correct procedure to change an account name is to change it in FAST on the desktop PC. After a successful Hotsync the changes will be seen on the handheld.

CAUTION: A backup of ALL files that are going to be modified is strongly recommended.

Microsoft Access data source:

  1. Open the FAST database file (typically located at C:\Program Files\FAST\Data\FAST.mdb) in Microsoft Access.
  2. Open the following two tables: AssessmentData and CCAssessment.
  3. Look at the "Account" columns in each table. Check for discrepancies between the Account names in each table. The AssessmentData table is the master table, meaning that those account names are the ones that you see in the main list of accounts on the left-hand side of the window in FAST. The account names in CCAssessment should match the account names in AssessmentData.
  4. The changes that you make to the account names in CCAssessment table are saved as soon as you make the change. Once you have corrected all the incorrect account names, close the database file.
  5. Open FAST on the desktop and verify that the assessment information is now accessible.
  6. Synchronize the handheld(s). After they have successfully synchronized check each handheld and verify that the assessment data is accessible.

If you still can not see the assessment data, or the assessment information was not in the database tables additional steps will be required to diagnose and troubleshoot. Please send us a trouble ticket with as much detailed information and we will be happy to assist you.
