WHMIS This is a 1/2-day Workplace Hazardous Materials Information Systems (WHMIS) course developed by Canadian Centre for Occupational Health and Safety, this session includes an exam and upon successful completion, a certificate will be presented. 0.3 CEUs (Related) Cross Connection Control Awareness This 1 day (0.6 CEU accredited) program will cover all aspects of cross connections as published in the Cross Connection Control Manual published by the AWWA Canadian Cross Connection Control 2007 Manual published by the Western Canada Section American Water Works Association (WCS AWWA) and is delivered primarily in a classroom setting, agenda items include Introduction to Cross Connection Controls, Causes of backflow, Health aspects, Legal aspects, Recommended backflow prevention procedures, Application of backflow prevention procedures, Types of backflow preventers, Recommended installation procedure, Recommended cross connection control program start up, Review of the testing process 0.6 CEUs (Core) WD, WT, WWC, WWT, SWWS, SWS, BWD Confined Space Awareness This 1 day program is designed for utility operators, construction workers and anyone required to work in and around confined spaces. The session provides a review of confined space entry programs & procedures as listed in the WCB Regulations, as well as a demonstration of equipment and personal protective equipment. Agenda items include Definitions, General Requirements & Responsibilities, CS Identification & Hazard Assessments, Lockout & Isolation, Verification, Testing & Isolation, Standby Personnel & Rescue, Fall Protection & Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) 0.6 CEUs (Core) WD, WT, WWC, WWT, SWWS, SWS, BWD Confined Space Entry II Prerequisite: Confined Space Awareness This (1-day) course provides proper procedures, roles, responsibilities & practical exercises for Supervisors, Standby Personnel, and Entrants for safe entry into confined spaces using standard CS entry techniques & equipment, with an additional component utilizing specialized techniques for simultaneous multiple worker entries. Topics include Regulations & Responsibilities, Hazards & Precautions, Inspection and Review of Equipment and PPE, Knots, Rope and Specialized Equipment, Pre-Plan (Workers and Task), Preparing Personnel for Entry / Inspection, Preparing the Space for Entry, Entry into a Confined Space, Exiting a Confined Space, Man-down Non-Entry Rescue Procedure, and Post Entry Procedures. The course also provides a non-entry rescue exercise. Attendees will need to bring their own proper steel toes, work gloves, coveralls 0.6 CEUs (Core) BWD, SWS, SWWS, WD, WT, WWC, WWT |
