These 3 courses, Fire Hydrant Maintenance, Water Main Repair and Disinfection and Reservoir Maintenance & Cleaning are 1-day courses run consecutively over a 3-day period.

Fire Hydrant Maintenance

This interactive and hands on course is of interest to operators, contractors, fire fighters, engineers and those who are responsible for the fire hydrants on their system. This program provides maintenance requirements and procedures for a wide selection of the common hydrants in use today. This 1-day program covers Fire Hydrant Maintenance procedures, including safety, general hydrant maintenance requirements, manufacturer specific hydrant maintenance, and hands on tear downs on several manufacturers’ hydrants. Whenever possible, we invite the manufacturer’s representatives to present the material specific to their hydrants.

Water Main Repair & Disinfection

This 1-day program is designed for water utility operators, contractors who install and work with water mains. This session considers dealing with a water main leak, we review procedures and repair materials and installation techniques, agenda items include basic leak detection concepts, proper system isolation procedures, pipe types and the OD chart, repair materials and installation techniques, post repair procedures, disinfection requirements, chlorine calculations, and volume calculations.

Reservoir Maintenance & Cleaning

Designed for operators responsible for maintaining water systems with reservoirs, this 1-day program covers the procedures necessary for preparing for and cleaning a potable water reservoir. We strongly recommend attendees consider the confined space awareness program prior to this one. Agenda items include basic confined space procedures, system isolation procedures, reservoir cleaning techniques and options, disinfection requirements, chlorine calculations, and volume calculations.
