This course is designed for those working in a waste water treatment Plant environment. Combining the experience and knowledge acquired in the field, this session provides education and tools to better prepare attendee's for the WWT Level I Examination. 1. Sources - understand where Wastewater originates 2. Physical characteristics - understand Wastewater makeup 3. Hydrological cycle - understand the effect of Wastewater Treatment on the cycle 4. Nutrient cycle - understand nitrification and denitrification 5. Eutrophication - understand the concept and effects of eutrophication 6. Lift stations - understand the location, operation and controls 7. Preliminary Treatment - understand the components, controls and effects 8. Primary Treatment - understand the components, controls and effects 9. Activated sludge - understand the components, controls and effects 10. RBC’s - understand the components, controls and effects 11. Digesters - understand the components, controls and effects 12. Disinfection - understand the components, controls and effects 13. Sludge thickening - understand the components, controls and effects 14. Motors, Drives, Valves - understand the components and controls 15. Cross Connection - understand the components, controls and effects 16. Flow Measurement - understand the components, controls and effects 17. Safety / Lab - understand the components, controls and effects 18. Ponds and Lagoons - explore the operational functions
